So, sunday brought a couple of surprises for me, the biggest of which was a surprise visit to a nearby city named Dinard. As you will soon see for yourself, Dinard is a charming archaic city built upon rock! The Girards, Alessandra and I spent most of Sunday drinking in it's beauty while treking throughout the entire town. So, without further adieu, I will drown your eyes in some more vloggy pictures! (I do apologize for this blog suddenly turning into a photo blog... I know it's not nearly as intellectually stimulating as a content-themed blog! But who are we kidding, blogs are very rarely informative!)
Places:
The breathtaking city-upon-the-rock view...
The city itself...
In the main square is a statue of Alfred Hitchcock (referecing the movie The Birds)
in honor of the Film Festival held in Dinard every year.
A little peninsula we visited at sunset...
People:
Louise and Jean-Yves hiking through the rocky landslide
(while Odile, Alessandra and I skirted along on a neat rock path!)
Jean-Yves pretending to Spider-man leap onto a passing trailer...
You know, normal tourist behavior ;)
Jean-Yves, Alessandra and I had a photo-shoot - featuring cameras!
Jean-Yves flagging Alessandra, Louise, and I down when we
got lost (on an obvious stone path... let's just say it was a long day!)
Alessandra yelling
"Je vole, Jaque! Je vole!" or "I'm flying, Jack! I'm flying!"
I may or may not have instructed her to do so...
Me, in assorted locations... (it's interesting, I know!)
While traversing the city, Jean-Yves bought Alessandra, Louise and I traditional Bretagne candy called "Niniches" de-lish!
While on the beach, Alessandra and I scratched "USA + Perus" into the sand!
...And pilfered some shells - sorry seacreatures!
Since she is leaving on Friday :( Alessandra gave us all little Peruvian gifts to
remember her by, one of which was an adorable little pen with a woven doll on top! I'm going to miss her so much!!
Food*warning:If you are hungry, do not look!:
Delicious clams and shrimp we enjoyed as pre-lunch appetizers
A traditional Peruvian dish that Alessandra made for lunch - Arroz a la Jardinera!
A traditional Bretagne cake called "Far Bretagne", which surprisingly includes prunes! I never thought that a dried fruit with such a tarnished reputation could taste so good...
And the recipe (if any of you are feeling ambitious, and can read tiny French print!)

Oh my goodness. What a beautiful landscape, what gorgeous architecture! So jealous. Going to have to send you some pics of the beautiful architecture and landscaped of Wisconsin right now. 19 below here at lunch today! You know you miss that so much!
ReplyDeleteSooo what happened to the water that I assume at one time came up to those bluffs? Love the pics!! I could almost taste the candy :)
